When working remote, please always be sure to be connected to GlobalProtect VPN. This includes the hotspot on the county-provided cell phone hotspots. VPNs allow for secure communication back to the Fulton County network when working outside of a Fulton County facility. Some software also only functions properly when connected to the VPN, such as the Outlook application and YASI.
To use the VPN, follow the steps below on your laptop—
- Find the GlobalProtect software in the hidden menu at the bottom right of your Windows taskbar and click on it
- Click the blue connect button on the GlobalProtect popup
- Sign into the CyberArk popup that appears on a new web browser tab
- Once you see the Authentication Complete window, you can close out the browser tab
- To verify that the VPN is on, click on the hidden menu in the Windows Taskbar again and then click on the GlobalProtect icon. You’ll notice that the icon is now blue and green as opposed to grey
- You are now connected to the VPN! Feel free to click anywhere else to dismiss the window (do not click on the disconnect button)
